I think the hair tie is an awesome addition to the aid of playing cleaner. Considering the fact that it's a freakin' HAIR TIE! And not some highly overrated endorsed product made specially for guitar players that costs a stupid amount of cash. I don't understand how it's cheating. Next to hardware and software, or reaching your right hand over to mute during pure legato, it's practically genius! I commend Andy for doing this. \m/ \m/

Yeah, I find that people bitching about mutes are people who couldn't play the stuff in the first place. It's almost like they can't accept that -- with or without a mute -- the person is just flat-out better than they are. It's like they want the person to screw up just so they can bring them down to their level.Lots of known pros use them -- MAB, Jennifer Batten, Greg Howe, etc.Michael Romeo is one of the few I think could play this type of composition without a mute and do it cleanly. |
